Granadilla, like Maracuja or passion fruit, belongs to the family of Passifloras. This fruit is native to South America but now cultivated in all countries of tropical and subtropical, including Hawaii and Kenya. It can be purchased throughout the year, although his best time is during the months of May through September.

The shape of this fruit is oval with a pointed end. Each piece has an approximate weight of 40 grams and a length of about 11 centimeters. The skin, thin, hard, inedible. This presents a golden orange or yellow or brown with small white spots. Inside is a juicy pulp species with gray vesicles, also edible, with a consistency similar to jelly marmalade.
