Origin and Overview:
The aloe vera, aloe vera or aloe Barbados is a plant of the family of Asphodeloideae Xanthorrhoeaceae and native to Arabia. He is currently in rocky coastal areas in temperate zones below 200 meters.
It is a sort of like a cactus bush, firm, robust and erect stems gray-green, toothed on the edges and up to 50 cm. long and 10 wide. They can have up to 20 sheets.
The flowers appear in clusters of about 50 cm. high, normally in a vertical shaft in the center of the floor, of a yellow color.
The fruits are capsules about 2 cm by 8 mm.
In addition to the nutritional and medicinal qualities of aloe vera also has other properties that are highly valued in the kitchen, more and more, especially in haute cuisine, where it is used as a gelling, stabilizer and emulsifier.
