Okra is a tropical plant similar to cotton. This is a plant of the center of Africa, which later was extended by the regions of warm and warm temperate climate, being more cultivated today in the Middle East, Asia, Africa and America.
The fruit of the okra is quite mucilaginous or "slimy" and this sometimes causes discomfort in some people. However, it consumes and widely abused. The most popular is cooked, then dehydrated raw or not like so much.
It is usually prepared and seasoned with lemon cooked in many dishes, served with eggs, potatoes or other vegetables. Also roasted, as this appears not to loose mucilaginous liquid by boiling in water. But there is something for everyone. Some roasted seeds, ground and used as a coffee substitute, for example.
